Are teachers degreed?
Answer: Yes, we meet accreditation standards and require those teaching grades higher than Kindergarten to be degreed.
Are uniforms required?
Answer: Yes, and the only approved provider is, Buckhead Uniforms
Is the Preschool required to wear uniforms as well?
Answer: Yes
What is the youngest age that you accept children?
Answer: Potty-trained two (2) year olds
What is the highest grade that you go to?
Answer: Presently we go through eighth grade and our goal is to add an additional grade level each year.
Is there a charge for early and afterschool care?
Answer: Yes there is a nominal fee for both.
What is the earliest that I can drop my child off, and what is the latest for pick-up?
Answer: 6:30am and 6:00pm, respectively
Does your school participate in field trips and am I required to attend?
Answer: Yes, we do plan field trips as part of our curriculum, and parents are expected to attend some of them.
Is lunch provided?
Answer: Yes it is part of the ELC’s tuition, and it is provided at an additional cost to Kindergarten through Middle School students
Do you serve breakfast?
Answer: No, breakfast is not provided on the premises. However a morning and afternoon snack is provided for the ELC students at no additional cost
Can I visit the school during the school day?
Answer: Yes, parent involvement is not only encouraged, it is required that parents volunteer a certain amount of hours each school year.
What holidays do you observe?
Answer: We follow most of the holidays that are observed by the Dekalb County school system, exempting a few different days.
Do you provide summer camp?
Answer: Our program is considered year round for the ELC students with scheduled breaks and additionally we offer a summer camp program for other students.
What is the birthday cutoff for attendance?
Answer: While we adhere to the same cut off as the state of Georgia (Sept 1st), we will test students who are exemplary and place them chronologically.
Are you able to accept students who have been diagnosed with special learning challenges?
Answer: In that we are a small school and lack the necessary resources to accommodate special learning challenges, we are not able meet those needs at present.
What are the school hours?
Answer: School starts promptly at 8:00am and classes conclude at: 3:15. After dismissal from classes we will hold the students as a courtesy to parents until 3:45 after which they will be signed in to the Aftercare teacher and a charge will be incurred.
If my child is going to be late to school what should I do?
Answer: Parents will need to contact the school office if students will not be on time. If we have not heard from parents by 9:00am, students will not be admitted to classes. The numbers to leave a message on are: 404-207-1352 or 404-326-5132
If parents are detained due to an emergency, making it impossible to pick up their student at dismissal, what is the protocol?
Answer: Parents will need to contact the school office, and be prepared to pay a late fee of $10.00 every five minutes.
How can tuition be paid?
Answer: (1) Monthly option managed through bank drafting; (2) total amount paid upfront; (3) tuition paid in two payments (August and January). There is a change in Preschool students’ tuition collection, starting 2008-2009 school year, it must be paid on Monday of each week.
Is financial aid available?
Answer: Yes it is available on a limited basis.
Are sibling discounts given?
Answer: Yes for Kindergarten through Middle School only
Do you provide transportation or carpooling?
Answer: No we do not presently provide transportation. We will allow parents to advertise if they are attempting to arrange carpooling. |
